Our school commenced operation in January 1985 and began as an almost completely multi-age school structure. It retained this organisational strategy until late 2017, and has grown from an initial enrolment of 147 to a current enrolment of around 820.
Due to the unique nature of the school many staff have been here for a very long time. In fact, the school has had only four substantive principals (after July 2015) in 33 years giving a stability few schools enjoy.
KPSS has a student population drawn from a catchment area that includes over 60 suburbs. The majority of these students come from the local suburbs of Shailer Park, Daisy Hill, Loganholme, Tanah Merah and Cornubia. While the school has established a very strong reputation for excellence and achievement that attracts many families to seek places for their children. This “out of catchment” demand, often increases the complexity and diversity of learning and social needs across the campus, with inclusive practices maintained throughout.
