To
report a student absence, please log in to QParents and submit the details of your child's absence from school.
Alternatively, text 0427 491 592 (this is a text-only number to an automated service) with a message stating your child's name, the day/s absent and the reason. If no reason is supplied (eg sick, holiday, family reasons, etc) the absence will be recorded as unexplained.
If you need to collect your child during learning times to attend an
appointment or to leave school grounds early, please
sign children out at the office, where you will be given a late slip and the class roll can be adjusted, before progressing to the classroom to collect
them.
Advance
notice, in writing/via email to the class teacher, will enable the teacher to support
your child to be ready on time.
EVERY DAY COUNTS Regular attendance promotes the best learning opportunities for students.
Every day counts is a state wide initiative
that aims to assist in improving student attendance at school through a shared
commitment by students, parents, caregivers, schools and the community.
To do this, EVERY DAY COUNTS promotes four key messages:
- all children should be enrolled at school and attend on
every school day
- schools should monitor, communicate and implement
strategies to improve regular school attendance
- truanting can place a student in unsafe situations and
impact on their future employability and life choices
- attendance at school is the responsibility of everyone
in the community.
