History

The student population draws from a catchment area that includes over 60 suburbs. The majority of these students come from the local suburbs of Shailer Park, Daisy Hill, Loganholme, Tanah Merah and Cornubia. The school has established a very strong reputation for excellence and achievement that attracts many families to seek places for their children.

Our school commenced operation in January 1985 and began as an almost completely multi-age school structure. It has retained this organisational strategy and has grown from an initial enrolment of 147 to a current enrolment of around 900.

In 2015 year seven was moved from primary to secondary schools and from that year Kimberley Park catered for students from the preparatory year to year six.

Due to the unique nature of the school many staff have been here for a very long time. In fact, the school has had only four substantive principals (after July 2015)  in 31 years giving a stability few schools enjoy.

As the school moves forward with Explicit Direct Instruction and Guaranteed and Viable    Curriculum being investigated, becoming an Independent Public School may be worth  exploring. For those interested, we've included Education Queensland's Prospectus and a  Frequently Asked Questions brochure, linked to this page to give more information.
