Resource scheme

Introduction

The cost of tuition is borne by the Education Department. At the time of writing the cost of educating each student is subsidised by the government in public schools at about $10,000 per year.

Parents are expected to cover the cost of additional items including:

  • school uniforms
  • day-to-day resources (booklist items)
  • extra-curricular activities for which there is a cost including instrumental music, robotics, choir, some other performing arts activities, sport and excursions.
  • Parent Association events such as student discos and other fund-raising functions.

Invoicing

Periodically during the school year students will be invoiced for resources and excursions.  Individual invoices are not printed but are available on request.  A note sent home with a definitive cost of the excursion or resource denotes that an invoice has been generated to the students account. Except in circumstances where non-refundable deposits have been taken, refunds are available if a student is not able to participate in excursions due to ill health or other extenuating circumstances.  An Application for a Refund, available from the school office, must be completed.  Statements of Account will be posted to families once per school term.

A three term payment plan is available for the payment of the Student Resource Scheme only - 50% to be paid Term 1, 25% to be paid Term 2 and the final 25% to be paid Term 3. Payment agreements are available on request and with due consideration to cases of hardship.

Payment default

Students will not be permitted to participate in the Student Resource Scheme if fees are outstanding for camps and resources from previous years.   Any payments received will be applied to previous years’ outstanding camp and resource amounts first.
